    I need to set my thoughts in order – rashness will be the death of us.
    Sadly all our lives seem to depend on me. The sellswords may have helped in the first few minutes, but they’ve been little since and I fear won’t be hence. I would be worried they might find this & lower their opinion of me, but they can’t read it. Arnis may not at all.
    I’m beginning to go through the volumes in the library. Provided we leave I hope to take many with me. Thephastus’ Correspondences was an unexpected find and one that may give me an edge against Mitv for trials next year. The artificers mentioned Aerunial but I’ve never read anything by a somatist so I’ll leave off on them until I know we have to fight forward.
    Many reference volumes, no workbooks. I begin to wonder – is this actually a full library or only a supplement? How accomplished was Yevgyny.

    The sellswords are becoming concerned. I’ve spent the day digging into the volumes and I’ve yet to gain any insight. Various repetitions & changes of specific circumstances have proven futile: none can yet leave. I don’t believe the effect was triggered, it’s something about the place itself.
    I’m willing to try the trapdoor below given how close a thing the fights were already.
    It will tak{        rip        }to go through the books thoroughly, and there’s foor food 5, longer if we eat sparsely.
The font he{        rip        }e stink of sweat, blood and waste will be the only difficulty.

    The dreams are the key, I’m sure of it.
    3 has meaning, and power.
    3 is certain.
    3 is eternal.
    Yevgyny’s journal provided context for the dreams. I recognized his face from the cameo, his mark from the books. Valia is mentioned, and the description of her scar matches the girl on the left. The others are likely the apprentices, but I cannot tell which is which. They are ancillary at best for Yevgyny, barely mentioned as more than skilled labor.
    Valia couldn’t pose a direct threat, but Yevgyny’s dismissal of her obvious ambition is dangerous. How could anyone from the Collegium forget that? How could she threaten him? Was this a trap left for her? An {    rip    }
tended consequence? Would she involve the others?
    What does Yevgyny mean? “I car{        rip        }you.” How could he be trapped here?{        rip        }
    I can ask{                                  rip                                  }d to sleep.                                {                    rip                    }

there’s no way around it. Since the loss of the library and the failure of my rituals there’s little use. We cannot
bear any more losses… not with the consequences. I have enough components to open the door down and another…
    I must go while I can still focus.
    The dreams are no longer dreams. I hear him even now.
